Super Eagles’ Coach Sunday Oliseh resigns

Sunday Oliseh has resigned as the coach of Nigeria’s senior national team, Super Eagles, after series of drama in the team since he picked up the job.

Oliseh, who resigned in the early hours of Friday, February 26, cited contract violations by the Nigerian Football Federation, as justification for his decision to step down.

He also expressed that lack of support from the country’s football administrators, unpaid wages and benefits to his players as well as his assistant coaches, a further justification for his unexpected announcement.

The former captain of the Super Eagles announced his resignation via his Twitter page.
